This customer heard a very disturbing water hammering anytime his sprinkler system popped on. We checked the pressure reducing valve and it was in good condition so we added a water hammer arrestor to the irrigation line and removed some air from the water heater expansion tank. This helped mitigate the pressure of the water from creating the noise and now they can’t even tell when the sprinkler system comes on from inside their home without seeing the water spraying up.
